2. You must verify against official sources

You must always double-check any information that matters to you on the official Portuguese government and institutional websites, or with a licensed professional, before making any decision, payment, signature or commitment.

Where our output refers you to an institution, opening that institution's own website and confirming the current requirement, fee, deadline or document list is part of using this service correctly, not an optional extra.

• Taxes and tax simulators: Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira — Portal das Finanças.
• Property registry, deeds and certificates: Instituto dos Registos e do Notariado, Predial Online, Casa Pronta.
• Vehicles, inspections and registration: Instituto da Mobilidade e dos Transportes, Automóvel Online.
• Public healthcare: Serviço Nacional de Saúde and SNS 24.
• Insurance supervision: Autoridade de Supervisão de Seguros e Fundos de Pensões.
• General administrative procedures: gov.pt and ePortugal.

3. Known limitations of AI output

• It can be incomplete, outdated or wrong, including where it sounds confident and specific.
• Laws, fees, tax rates, deadlines, document lists and administrative practice in Portugal change, and can differ by municipality, region and personal situation.
• It cannot inspect a property, examine a vehicle, examine you medically, read a document it has not been given, or know facts that are not in the information supplied to it.
• Automated reading of a third-party listing page may fail or capture the page incorrectly, and the listing itself may be inaccurate, incomplete or fraudulent.
• Translations and summaries may lose legally meaningful detail. The Portuguese-language original of any official document or policy prevails.

4. What our AI is instructed not to do

Our AI features are instructed not to invent facts, fees, processing times, statistics, testimonials, partnerships, qualifications or web addresses, to say plainly when something cannot be verified, and never to state that a specific property or vehicle is a good or bad purchase.

These instructions reduce risk but cannot eliminate it. Artificial intelligence can still produce errors, including fabricated detail. Treat every output as a starting point for verification.

5. No endorsement, no representation

Portugal Decide is independent. References to public institutions, companies, insurers, portals, sellers, agents or products are for identification and verification purposes only and do not imply any endorsement, partnership, authorisation or approval, in either direction.

We are not a real-estate agency, car dealership, law firm, tax consultancy, insurance broker, medical provider, relocation agency or financial adviser.

6. Your decisions remain yours

You are solely responsible for your own decisions and for the consequences of acting, or not acting, on information obtained through this website. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Portugal Decide accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on AI-generated output.

If a matter is significant — a purchase, a contract, a tax position, a residency application, a health decision — engage a qualified, licensed professional in Portugal.

7. Processing of your inputs

Text, links and details you submit to an AI feature are sent to third-party AI model providers in order to generate a response. Do not submit information you do not want processed in this way, and in particular avoid unnecessary health data, identification numbers or other sensitive details.
