1. Simulation and informational purposes only
The tools, calculators (including the IMT and Stamp Duty calculators), automated reports, comparisons and all other information provided on Decide Portugal are for simulation and informational purposes only.
Results are estimates based on rules and values published at the time of writing, applied to the figures you enter. Tax rules, thresholds and fees change, and individual situations differ. A result produced by this website is not an official calculation, a valuation, a quotation, a tax assessment or a legal determination.
2. Not professional advice
Nothing on this website substitutes official legal, financial, tax, mortgage, immigration, insurance or healthcare professional advice. We are not lawyers, accountants, financial advisers, insurance brokers, medical providers or immigration consultants, and we do not act as your agent or representative.
Before making any decision, payment, signature or commitment, you must verify the information on the relevant official Portuguese website — such as Portal das Finanças, IMT Online, SNS, ePortugal or gov.pt — or with a licensed professional. Our AI Disclaimer and Service Disclaimer form part of these terms.
3. Free public beta
This website is currently in a free public beta stage. All guides, tools and reports are provided free of charge during the beta period. Features, content and availability may change, be suspended or be withdrawn at any time as we improve the service.
4. How your inputs are processed
The values you type into our calculators are processed locally, in your browser, to produce the results you see instantly. They are not stored on our servers. When you paste a property link or submit text to a tool or the AI assistant, it is used only to generate the result or answer you requested. Our Privacy Policy explains this in detail.
5. Your responsibility for the information you enter
The quality of any result depends on the figures and information you provide. You are responsible for their accuracy, for the legality of submitting them, and for checking any result against the official source before relying on it. You must be at least 18 years old to use this website.
6. Permitted use
- You may use the website freely for your own personal research and decision-making.
- You may not present our output as professional advice, resell it, scrape the website at scale, or use it to build a competing product or dataset.
- You may not submit unlawful, infringing content, or other people's personal data you have no right to share.
7. Intellectual property
The website, its design, text, tools and structure are owned by Portugal Decide and protected by intellectual property law. You may keep, print and share a report or result generated for your own use.
8. Availability and liability
The website is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss arising from use of this website or reliance on its content, and we are not liable for decisions, payments or commitments made without verification against official sources.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any right you have under mandatory Portuguese or European Union consumer law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues to apply.
