ePortugal is the Portuguese state's one-stop services portal. Instead of knowing which ministry handles what, you search for the procedure — certificates, appointments, licences, municipal services — and the portal routes you to the right service. For anyone settling in Portugal, it is the fastest way to find out which office does what.

Do I need an account to use ePortugal?
You can browse all the information without an account. To carry out a service in your own name — ordering a certificate, scheduling an appointment — you usually authenticate with your Portuguese identification and tax number.
Is ePortugal the same as gov.pt?
They are connected: gov.pt is the state's general web presence and eportugal.gov.pt is the services portal. Both are official government sites.
I just arrived — what should I look for there first?
Search for the procedures you need by name: NIF (tax number), NISS (social security number), saúde (health, for the utente number) and residência (residency-related services). Each service page states the requirements, the responsible office and the steps. Rules and required documents change, so read the current service page before you go.
Can Portugal Decide submit anything for me?
No. We are independent decision support and have no access to government systems or your personal data. We structure the information and link you to the official service; you (or a professional you authorise) carry out the procedure.
